Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct
Bad Boy Running Club (hereinafter referred to as BBRC) operates as a virtual running club, with no club owned, rented, leased or otherwise club affiliated physical location for meeting up. This is until such time as we own, or at least are guardians of the internet.

Our main presence is through social media interactions, or through direct communication between members of BBRC, or where we have organised meet-ups, events or other such running or non-running things that you may be participating in as a member of the club.

Notwithstanding the lack of a club house, we still need you all to always behave responsibly when interacting with other members of the club, or the general public etc…

The Code of Conduct provides a reminder of the behaviour which we can all adopt to live alongside each other in relative harmony:

  • Behave respectfully and equally towards all club members, committee members, podcasters, other runners and members of the public.
  • Not engage in harassment (1) of any form.
  • Ensure that you never compromise your own safety or the safety of others.
  • Respect and comply with the rules and regulations of competitions that you may participate in or assist with as an athlete or official.
  • Ensure all language, or material promoted through communications, either electronically, face-to-face, or otherwise, is not defamatory or otherwise offensive (2)
  • Follow the Grievance Procedure if at any time you have cause for concern for the welfare, safety or behaviour of others.
  • If your welfare or safety concern is of a serious nature, you should communicate with the appropriate authorities as you would ordinarily do as a member of the public.
  • Be nice to each other.
  • Abide by the BBRC Equality Policy and Health and Safety Policy
  • If you are an EA affiliated member of the club you are also bound by the Senior Athlete code of conduct which can be found using the link below:

1. The nature of our club means that comical engagements are often present on our social media platforms. Please take this into consideration when you are assessing content (social media or otherwise) as harassment, likely to cause offence etc...It is likely not intended to be read as such, as other members will not tolerate this.

2. BBRC are aware that:
  • The club is for over 18’s only, and that the language used on their social media platforms is age appropriate much in the same way as a film classification would be. Being a member of the club means that you are aware of this, and that if swearwords etc…are being used you should in the first instance avoid the conversation or forum in which they are being used.
  • #FYB is adopted across the club as a saying, and as a means of greeting each other. When using the long form version of this, please be mindful of your surroundings and if there are any minors present.
  • The “FY” stands for a commonly used expletive that some people may find offensive, and as such should be used at your own discretion and only in circumstances you deem appropriate. It must never be used aggressively, or with the intention of offending.
